Xavi Hernández: "I try to disconnect when I'm with my family. I'm very lucky with them. In difficult and hard times they are there." [@JijantesFC]
Xavi: "I sleep very little. I try to sleep 6-7 hours. My children get up at 6 in the morning."
Xavi: "My wife helps me a lot. I have tremendous confidence in her and my family. They help me relativize more things."
Xavi: "In Qatar the stress levels were lower. The quality of life is very high. We lived wonderfully. When you come to Barcelona everything is stressful, but I don't regret it at all."
Xavi: "In Barcelona you are continually judged and criticized. The coach is responsible for everything. I try to be quite strong on a personal level. I have spoken a couple of times with Laia, the club's psychologist."
Xavi: "My father and my brothers are big football fans. My life is football. I'm always aware of everything."
Xavi: "Leo? The last days, weeks, I had noticed that he didn't see his return clearly. You have to understand it, being Messi is not easy. Everyone is interested in you, he never has calm."
Xavi: "Leo explained it, for the past two years he was unhappy. I can understand that he doesn't want so much pressure anymore. I spoke with him a lot."
Xavi: "I have spoken a lot with Messi and we were all excited... But in the end it hasn't happened. He has explained the circumstances very well. He wants a quieter and more family life."
Xavi: "It's Messi's personal decision and you have to respect him because he's the best player in history. I was convinced that we would do well with him."
Xavi: "I respect Messi and I wish him all the best... It has not been an easy situation for him, of course."
Xavi: "As a coach you never disconnect. Now we are planning and I'm very excited to be able to compete for all the titles. Now it's time, being in a very difficult economic situation, to strengthen ourselves the best we can."
Xavi: "We are going to see how far we can strengthen ourselves to fight for all the titles. I would like to go one step further and fight for the Champions League."
Xavi: "We haven't been able to talk to the players yet. We are having meetings with the sports area and the President to find out what we can do. When we have things clear we can talk to the players we have to talk to."
Xavi: "Neymar? In theory, he's not in our sports planning, I appreciate him enormously as a person, but he's not a priority."
Xavi: "Pablo Torre? I know I'm unfair as a coach with players playing less. Sometimes I think about the players. But I have to decide and be honest with myself."
Xavi: "If Pablo Torre played, they would ask me about Raphinha... We always see that they ask us about someone who hasn't played and it's normal because that's part of football."
Xavi: "Defensively I'm very happy. We've made a step forward. We don't have to touch anything in goal and defense."
Xavi: "We value Arnau Tenas very much. There won't be any problems with his renewal."
Xavi: "There is no problem with Koundé. The good thing about the dressing room is that everyone puts the collective above the individual."
Xavi: "We want to see Julian Araújo in pre-season."
Xavi: "Julian has personality, he adapted quickly."
Xavi:" "We have never played with a 4-4-2 formation We never play with two strikers."
Xavi: "Ousmane is loved in the dressing room, very honest, he jokes all the time. He's important to me. He can generate chances."
Xavi: "Dembélé is happy here and wants to stay. He's always been clear with me on that."
Xavi: "With four midfielders, we have had more order and organisation."
Xavi: "Azpilicueta is an example of the circumstances that exist. We all wanted it to happen, as has happened with Leo, and in the end it couldn't be."
Xavi: "The pivot that comes has to win many duels, not be out of position and be physical."
Xavi: "Nothing is valued at Barça. It works like that because we have an environment that works like that, the player doesn't feel supported, protected like in other places. That's why I always say that Barça is the most difficult club in the world."
Xavi: "I think that next year we will compete better because the team has learned to win. We did not compete well in the Champions League, we had the most difficult group and without it being an excuse, the injuries played a part."
Xavi: "When Laporta called me to sign for Barça there was a clause that made it a bit difficult but luckily it went very well. I feel very loved, I thank the President."
Xavi: "We need to reinforce ourselves. If we want to compete at all levels, in Europe, we need it. I'm sincere and honest."
Xavi: "Ferran has to feel valued and respected by people. With him and with everyone we will have to decide what we do. We haven't done it yet."
Xavi: "I'm very happy with Rafa Márquez' work because he has improved all the players. He's a very discreet and close guy, we have maintained a friendship with since he left and he has made a team with soul and character. They are competing very well."
Xavi: "Since I've been the Barça coach, no one has said 'no'. Everyone has wanted to come to Barça."
Xavi: "Bojan is a great profile. He's someone who will help, he lived the situation of being a Barça youngster. He will help young players."
Xavi: "Lamine is 15 but he has a lot of talent. It all depends on his mentality. I've seen a lot of players who didn't have Lamine's talent but succeeded and vice versa."
Xavi: "We always look for meritocracy. If a player is playing well, we reward him by going up to train with us. Joan Barberà keeps us informed, but a good attitude is essential."
Xavi: "I really like Aleix Garrido, he will probably do the pre-season with us."
Xavi: "One word to define Pau Prim? Balance."
Xavi: "The day of the Super Cup was my happiest day as a coach. People saw the work behind it."
Xavi: "If I wasn't a coach, I'd be a sports director. Something to do with football."
Xavi: "Mateu is a professional, we are lucky to have him."
