Xavi has made it clear that he is still hungry for success, and is determined to remain a key figure at Barcelona throughout the 2012-13 campaign.


The experienced midfielder has been part of the Catalans' first team for 15 seasons, and he is proud of everything he has achieved at Barca.

"I hope to do things right this season. To carry on being important for the team and to win titles," Xavi stated to reporters.

"I am proud of the work I have done but football has no memory and you have to keep proving yourself day after day. I just want to have a good season and be useful."

The playmaker also discussed international football, and stressed that retiring from the Spain duty is not an option.

"I have no intention of retiring from the Spanish national team. I still enjoy it as much as I did the first day," he added.

Xavi has made over 100 international appearances for La Roja, winning two European Championship titles and the 2010 World Cup in the process.
