Ja og man synes slet ikke han har rullet sig ud endnu i denne sæson, bedst illustreret ved kampen i går, hvor han spadserer rundt i 60 minutter og vælger at stemple ind og lave et par små kasser ad libitum.. man tænker, hvad vil der ske han han virkelig ruller sig ud, når han virkelig for alvor blir *tændt*?

FC Borne’s Cédric Enjolras submitted the formal request to sign Barcelona’s World Player of the Year last month after a boozy night out with friends.

However, the official request was intercepted by the French Football Federation who decided against sending it to Barcelona – instead suspending Cédric Enjolras for six months with three suspended.

Yves Begon, chairman of the FFF committee, acknowledged the request was a joke but that they “could not accept such behaviour”.

The French village, which has a population of just 400 people, play in the second division of the Haute-Loire district in the south of central France

Personligt tror jeg at han har lært det af Márquez. Nøj, hvor kunne han bare slå nogle fantastiske diagonalbolde. Ham savner jeg nogle gange. Altså, 04-05 eller 05-06 udgaven af ham.

FC Barcelona reached an agreement with the Argentine striker, signing him until 2018 and raising his base salary to €16 million net ($21.2 million), which will make him the highest on-the-pitch earner in soccer. Barҫa is moving to secure their number one star’s presence in their squad, as evidenced by his prohibitive €250 million ($331.2 million) buyout clause and tax payments on his salary that reportedly totaled more than €20 million ($26.5 million). It seems worth it: since Messi became a pro, FC Barcelona has won 19 titles including three Champions Leagues and 5 domestic Ligas.

Scoring twice against second placed Atletico de Madrid last Sunday, Messi reached his 90th goal of the year, finally laying to rest Gerd Muller’s previous record. The West German striker held that record for 40 years after having scored 85 goals in a single calendar year back in 1972. “My record stood for 40 years – 85 goals in 60 games – and now the best player in the world has broken it, and I’m delighted for him,” said the former German international, “he is an incredible player, gigantic,” according to The Daily Mail.

While Messi’s on-field feats have secured him a spot in football history, the Argentine striker has also managed a pretty considerable financial performance. FC Barcelona announced on Tuesday that Messi had signed a new contract that tied him to the Blaugranas until mid-2018. According to Spanish media, the superstar will be earning €16 million ($21.2 million) net as long as Barҫa make it to the Champions League and Messi plays in at least 65% of matches for which he is fit, which are two conditions he’s met every year since becoming a professional.

Messi, who was chosen the world’s best footballer for the last three years by FIFA and is expected take a record-fourth Ballon d’Or for 2012, has crept up to the third spot in Forbes’ World’s Highest Paid Soccer Players list this year. In our previous list, we calculated that Messi took in $20 million in salary and bonus, and another $19 million in endorsements. The Argentine superstar counted with the backing of companies like Adidas, Pepsi, EA Sports, Herbalife, and Audemars Piguet, among others.

Since then, La Pulga was signed by Procter & Gamble to promote Head & Shoulders and by Turkish Airways as brand ambassador after starring in a commercial alongside Kobe Bryant.

This has been Messi’s sixth contract negotiation since arriving to Barҫa in 2000 as a child. The first was during the 2005/2006 season, just before being called up to Barcelona’s A-team, after which he signed a second contract. The following year Messi won himself a more permanent spot on the team, playing 35 games and scoring 17 goals; that same year, Barҫa set his buyout clause at €150 million ($198.7 million) to avoid poaching, Marca reported. FC Barcelona is clearly paying top dollar to keep one of the world’s best athletes, and one of the most marketable, on their squad for a long time. Indeed, Barҫa’s economic vice president, Javier Faus, told Forbes one of the main challenges from a financial standpoint is to keep player salaries under control. Clearly, after scoring at least 90 goals in 2012 (Barҫa has one game left this year), Messi is an exception that is well worth it.

Selvom at det er relativt forståeligt at Messi får en lønforhøjelse for hans stadig mere imponerende præstationer, er det stadig en skam at se hvordan klubberne presserne sig selv ved at blive nød til at tilbyde de her høje lønninger for at holde fast på spillerne.

Klubbens indtægter stiger hvert år i de her år, men det er som om at ethvert overskud bare bliver brugt på at forbedre spillernes kontrakter fremfor at enten betale af på gælden eller ligge til side til projekter som et nyt stadion eller renovering af Camp Nou eller Palau Blaugrana.
