Barcelona have told Reuters that defender Chumi, subject of El Mundo story doing the rounds, was legible to play the first leg of Copa del Rey tie and that the club have done nothing wrong.
The FC Barcelona did not commit improper alignment, as published by El Mundo , in the first leg of the second round of the Copa del Rey in the field of Levante by the presence in the starting lineup of Chumi Brandáriz , who was suspended for the next match Second Division B with Barça B due to the accumulation of cards, due to the modification of the General Regulations and Disciplinary Code of the Royal Spanish Football Federation in Circular No. 28 published on November 29, 2018
UPDATE:
RFEF says that Barcelona did not commit an offence by playing Chumi as his Barça B ban does not transfer over competitions.
So that was a False Alarm
The Spanish Football Federation considers that Barcelona did break competition rules by fielding Chumi against Levante last week.
According to the federation, the paragraph that has been mentioned earlier only refers to persons with a 'double license' (such as player+coach or football player+futsal player), not to players who can play for a B team and a first team (as they only have one license).
The federation is expecting a complaint from Levante, but they won't evaluate the option to kick Barcelona out of the competition, because Levante's complaint would arrive after the deadline. The case could end up at CAS. [catradio]
